YALIGoesGreen 2017 - Support Renewable Energy

Imagine what will be of our community and universe, if we all adopt renewable energy sources namely: sun, wind, rain, tides, waves and geothermal heat, which are not only cost-effective but also clean and healthy,in place of oil-powered energy generation which makes our environment carbon-laden.
We suffer because of our not-so-clean lifestyle of generating much waste and recycling little or nothing. It is worthy of note that more than what we can imagine have their dependence on power generation. My country, Nigeria, is one of the countries which find power generation very challenging.

By going green, we not only save our universe from pollution, but also save our economies from imminent collapse due to high cost of oil-dependent sources of power. Nigerians, especially those of the Niger Delta Region have more engaging stories to tell.
Here are some of the things you can do to conserve energy:
    • Turn off the light when you leave the room
    • Use natural light in the day
    • Turn off and unplug electrical appliances when you are not in the house
    • Paint with a brush, instead of a sprayer
    • Re-use plastic bags
    • Use energy-saving bulbs
    • Plant a tree to purify the air
    • Teach others to do same
