    GUARANTY TRUST BANK SKS 'BACK TO SCHOOL' CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION

    SKS (Smart Kids Save) is an Essay Contest organised by GTBank Plc which is aimed at encouraging children in Primary and Secondary schools to develop and horn their writing skills.

    ESSAY TOPIC CATEGORIES
    1. Primary School: Write a 100-word essay on 'My Last Holiday.'
    2. Junior Secondary School: Write a 200-word essay on  'Looking Forward to a new session.'
    3. Senior Secondary School: Write a 300-word essay on 'Most memorable thing from last session.'

    ELIGIBILTY
    Participant must be a Primary or Secondary school student

    SUBMISSION CLOSES
    Friday, 14th October 2016 (6 pm)

    SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
    1. The following should be included (IN BLOCK LETTERS) in the submission:
    a.Name
    b. Age
    c. Candidate/Parents' email address
    d. Parents' Phone number
    e. Category of Entry
    f. Name of School

    2. Participants can only be in any of the three(3) categories stated above.

    3. Submissions begin on Friday, 9th September 2016 and close on Friday, 14th September 2016. Submissions received after 6pm on the closing date will not be attended to.

    4. The competition is FREE and open to all SKS customers who submit their essays (in A4 paper size with double line spacing, saved in either PDF or Word format) to sks@gtbank.com.

    5. All participants must get consent from parents or guardians to enter for the SKS 'Back To School' Creative Writing Competition as GTBank reserves the right to demand proof of consent.

    6. Only one submission is accepted for each participant.

    7. The Judging Panel is responsible for the allocation of awards and the decision of the Chairman of the Judging Panel is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the final decision of the Chairman.

    8. By taking part in this competition, each participant consents to the use of his/or her submitted information as GTBank reserves the right to use the information submitted by participants for the purposes of managing the competition.

    9. All submissions together with the Smart Kids' details (Name, Age or Town) may be used in publicity campaigns (including press, social media, calendars, cards, posters and other point-of-sale materials) for this year's competition and for future competitions. Photographs of the winners together with their names and ages may be used in publicity campaigns where the parents or guardians of winners have given their consents.

    10. Winners will be notified by telephone or email and a list of prize winners will be published on GTBank's social media platforms, website, and the national dailies. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winners, If winners cannot be reached after all reasonable efforts have been made, GTBank will select the next best participant as the winner and item number nine (9) applies thus.

    11. The rules of the competition may not be changed or modified and will be applied strictly.

    12. Media-type a Word Document either in Microsoft Office or PDF.

    13. Essays must have been completed and submitted to sks@gtbank.com by 6pm Friday, 14th October 2016.

    14. Participants will be judged based on the creativity and originality of their written essays. Essays must be the original work of the participant and not have been published (as a publication with an ISBN, ISSN or Cataloging-in-Publication Entry), or broadcast, or won a prize in any previous competition.
