The Government of Kaduna State, lead by Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, in a bid to restore the economy of Kaduna State and create more jobs, has introduced KAD-STEP so as to facilitate the creation of jobs for the young and unemployed persons in the State.

KAD-STEP is aimed at mentoring, funding and supporting aspiring young entrepreneurs in the state to develop and execute Innovative Enterprises. Participants who have Entrepreneurial ideas would be trained and guided, after which Bank of Industry Loans would be given out to those who qualify for Start-up.

The Programme is structured as a 12-week arrangement where qualified candidates go through a world-class programme equivalent to an Entrepreneurship Diploma plus access to finance.

There will be a 10-week intensive training which will be followed by a grand examination. This then leads to a 2-week access to finance training and accessing of the loan. Candidates will be issued interim statements of result and subsequently an Entrepreneurship Diploma, if they run the Business successfully for a period of 18 months.

After registration, applicants are to apply for KAD-STEP loan by putting down their viable and innovative Business Plans on KAD-STEP website through the links that would be sent to each applicant after the registration process.

All Business Plans would be graded by a computer-based business plan program and verified by KAD-STEP consultants. Successful candidates would receive an invitation to proceed to Kaduna State Business School for Training.

A 10-week intensive training followed by a grand examination would follow immediately after the selection process has ended for each batch.

Only candidates that attain 2.75 GPA credit units and above after the 10-week training will be assigned mentors and allowed to apply for the Bank of Industry loan.
Successful candidates would be given Start-up loans to begin their businesses.
